my sister was talking to me this morning about all this sexist stuff she saw on TV, and she said she knew she was talking a lot but she likes talking to me about this stuff because I always get so mad. Honestly I don't think I've been more flattered.
But she was watching this talk show where they were saying that Beyonce isn't a feminist (even though she says she is) because she wears heels and shakes her butt. A feminist can do whatever she wants, can be whoever she wants. That is what feminism is about, that women can be who they want to be. If Beyonce wants to strut her stuff in high heels, she can strut her stuff in high heels. If this girl wants to wear makeup, she can wear makeup. If that girl wants to go natural, she can go natural. If she wants to run her own company, by all means, go for it. If she wants to get married and run a house, freakin' go for it. It's about women being treated as people, not some sub-species to man. It's about women being able to make choices for themselves. It's about women being treated equally to men, not as a man or above men. It is about equality!
