when I was looking up bearded vultures some time ago, I came across this board where people were talking about how superior birds are to humans and one of their arguments was how much more beautiful birds are and for a human to be even passingly attractive, they have to coat themselves in paint and chemicals. They listed bearded vultures as an example of just how beautiful birds are. Yeah, they're beautiful birds, but they actually sped hours preening iron-rich dirt into their feathers to get that look
